Lora Kight
 Municipal Court Clerk 

 

The Clerk of the Cochran Municipal Court is Lora Kight. She is responsible for processing all cases that are presided over by the Municipal Court.

The Cochran Municipal Court oversees all misdemeanor traffic cases, violation of city ordinances and some misdemeanor criminal violations.

The Municipal Court is presided over by Judge Dennis Mullis.

Municipal Court is held on the first and third Friday of each month for pleas, unless it falls on a holiday, at 1:00 PM in the Courtroom inside the Cochran Municipal Building. The Municipal Court phone number is 478.934.7776.

If your citation is not a “must appear” citation, you may pay it online at www.ticketfastpay.com. Payment can only be made with a money order in the office and a debit or credit card online.  No personnel checks will be accepted.

If your citation is not paid before your scheduled court date or you do not appear for court a $50 late fee will be added to your citation.  Your court date will then be rescheduled and a courtesy letter will be sent to you notifying you of the new date.  If you do not appear on your rescheduled court date, a Failure to Appear Warrant will be issued and a notice sent to the State for possible suspension of your license.

The Cochran Municipal Court is inside the Cochran Municipal Building.  Office hours are from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.  The office is not open on weekends or holidays.  Court phone number is 478.934.7776.

Charles Ledbetter

   
  The Cochran City Marshall is Charles Ledbetter.  He is responsible for the collection of delinquent city taxes, delinquent city utilities, bad checks, and overdue fines from Municipal Court.

The City Marshall is also responsible for enforcement of Cochran City Ordinances on Abandoned Vehicles, Abandoned/Dilapidated properties and structures, and all other Public Nuisance violations.

The Marshall's Office is inside the Cochran Municipal Building.  Office hours are from 8:00 AM until 5:00, Monday thru Friday.  The office is not open on weekends or holidays.  Office phone number is 478.934.4282.
