Assistant Chief Key McGuire heads the Cochran Police Department Special Response Team. The team was established to respond, as needed, to any special emergency, high-risk enforcement, civil disorder, natural disaster, homeland security, or other unusual event, minimizing the possibility of injury to officers and the public by providing specially trained and equipped officers. Examples include, but are not limited to hostage situations, barricaded subjects, riot control, high-risk search warrants, high-risk arrest warrants, bomb threats, and scene security.
The mission of the SRT is to support the Cochran Police Department and any other requesting agency with tactical response to critical incidents.
The SRT is made up of 9 officers who have volunteered for these positions. The structure of the team is as follows:

Members of the SRT are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Officers receive no special pay or benefits for being a member of the team. These men are dedicated, responsible professionals who take on more training, more work, more risks, and more time away from their families for the safety of our community and their families. |
