 Acting Chief Chris Coley is currently in command of the City of Cochran Police Department.

Acting Chief Coley is a life-long resident of Cochran and Bleckley County. After attending Bleckley County High School , he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice from Middle Georgia College and Mercer University .

While attending college, Coley began his career in law enforcement with the Bleckley County Sheriff�s Office. In 1992, he joined the Georgia State Patrol where he served as Assistant Post Commander at the Perry GSP Post before retiring in 2008 as Assistant Post Commander of the Dublin GSP Post.

Coley joined the Cochran Police Department in 2008 as a Lieutenant assigned to command the Patrol Division. In 2012 he was promoted to Captain.

On November 1, 2013, he took command of the Cochran Police Department when Chief McGuire announced his retirement.

He is active in his church, the Bleckley County School System, and the Cochran-Bleckley Recreation Department. He is a member of the Police Benevolent Association.

Acting Chief Coley firmly believes in a very high quality of customer service to every citizen and resident who calls upon the Cochran Police Department for service. Please do not hesitate to contact him for any issue or concern you may have.
